Pandit Ronu Majumdar is a topnotch flautist of the country today. Initiated into music by his father Dr. Bhanu Majumdar, Ronu trained under noted musicians like the late Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao. Ronu also recived valuable guidance from the celebrated sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.Pt. Ronu Majumdar has performed widely all over India and abroad at major festivals of music. He has played in duet with internationally renowned musicians like RyCooder, Larry Corryel, Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, Pt. Vidwan Kadri Gopalnath and Louis Banks.\nPandit Ronu has several solo and jugalbandhi albums to his credit. He is a recipient of the prestigious Kumar Gandharva Samman, Kalakiran Samman and several such awards.
